Robin Medeiros is the Principal Guard and Principal Investigator for Star. He has over 30 years of Military, Law Enforcement and Security Experience, and is a former United States Navy Instructor. Robin is also “Board Certified” as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) by the American Association of Industrial Security (ASIS International). He is also certified in the Reid Technology Interviews and Interrogations by John E. Reid & Associates. Robin is currently a member of Kailua Neighborhood Board.
Anderson Hee is a co-owner of Star and a licensed Principal Guard in the State of Hawaii. He is a retired Honolulu Police Department Lieutenant and a past Supervisory Special Agency with the Department of the Attorney General, State of Hawaii. His investigative experience includes cases of death, fires, explosives, post blast cases, workplace violence and sexual harassment. Anderson is a Governors Appointment to the State of Hawaii, Corrections Population Management Commission and is “Board Certified” in Security as a Certified Protection Professional by the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS International). He is also a current member of the California Homicide Investigators Association (CHIA), past president of the Parkway Community Association, past member of the Honolulu Board of Realtors and a past Coach for the Police Athletic League.
Michael Church is the Executive Director of Star and is the Chief Operating Officer for all services. He has over 35 years of Law Enforcement and Security experience and is a retired Honolulu Police Department Detective Sergeant and a past Public Safety Trainer and Manager for the Sheriff’s Office. Mike was also assigned to the Honolulu Police Criminal Intelligence Unit under Chief Lee Donohue and conducted many covert investigations on the State and Federal Levels. In his career he has specialized in film industry jobs and also managed the Hawaii Five-O Production Security for Star in Honolulu. He is an avid golfer and member of Mid-Pac Country Club and Honolulu Country Club.
Mitchell Kiyuna is the Director of Security for Star and is responsible for all active Security Officers. He is a retired Honolulu Police Department Captain and the former Assistant Commander of the Kapolei District. With over 35 years of police experience and over 25 years of management training, he brings his knowledge to Star’s Operations. Prior to working at Star, he ws the Manager for Kaiser Moanalua Security. In his off time, Mitch is a strong supporter of the University of Hawaii Football team.
Sheldon Kaopua is the Assistant Director of Security and works with the Director in managing Star’s Security personnel. He joined Star in 2011 and worked as a Supervisor at the University of Hawaii Manoa Campus, Security and Parking Enforcement. Sheldon oversees Motorized Patrol Services, Training and Safety awareness. He attended the Honolulu Community College where he studied Police Science.
Jonathan Sotelo is a very experienced Accountant and has 16 years of experience at Star. He is the main point of contact for client concerns in any financial matters and reports directly to the Controller. In his off time he is a youth soccer coach for Hawaii AYSO.
Jade Umi is the Director of Human Resources for Star and she has 19 years of service with the company. She is highly skilled in H/R and handles disciplinary conduct on the routine basis. She also works with the Star Scheduling Section to ensure personnel meet the standards and qualifications for each client’s site.
Stephen Dung is the Business Development Manager for Star Protection Agency responsible for the Camera and Alarm services offered by Star. He has over 40 years of Law Enforcement and Security experience and is a retired Honolulu Police Department Detective Sergeant. Steve was assigned to the Honolulu Police Criminal Intelligence Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and the Narcotics/Vice Division. He conducted numerous covert investigations on the State and Federal levels. His investigative experience includes cases involving death, employee misconduct, workplace violence and sexual harassment. Prior to working at Star, Steve was the Manager of Security for Aloha Airlines and the Director of Security for Servco Pacific Inc.
Retired from the Honolulu police Department (1996) as an Assistant Chief - Investigative Bureau, with tenures as Commander of Internal Affairs and the Central Patrol Bureau. He was then appointed by the City & County of Honolulu as the Executive Director Office of Waikiki Development, Contracted by the Hawaii Tourism Authority as Director of Security for the Asian Development Bank Meeting of 2001; following the 9-11 tragedies returned to the City as Director, Oahu Civil Defense Agency, and following the anthrax attacks on US Postal facilities, hired as the US Postal Inspection Service Homeland Security Coordinator for the Honolulu District and the Pacific Basin. Retired from the US Postal Inspection Service in 2013 and is presently the Business Development Manager for Star Protection Agency with a subcontracted tenure recently as the Chief Security Coordinator for the World Conservation Conference, International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Conference held at the Hawaii Convention Center in September of 2016. He has an undergraduate degree from Chaminade University and holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
Henry Nobriga is Star’s trainer in firearms and has a NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Trainer Certification. He has weekly classes for firearm qualifications of Retired Law Enforcement Officers under the Federal LEOSA (Law Enforcement Officers Security Act) Program. He is a retired Honolulu Police Lieutenant and a past Department of Attorney General Investigator, with over 32 years of Law Enforcement experience. Henry is also Board Certified in Security as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International.
