Since 1987, we've led the way designing and delivering customized, integrated radio frequency

identification (RFID) and real-time locating system (RTLS) safety and security solutions for the

healthcare, senior living, hospitality, education and related markets. RFT was the first in the industry to offer remote monitoring, RF consulting, 24/7 technical support by internal staff specialists, and a

nationwide service team.


RFT has been in business since 1987. We are a technology company that focuses on using radio

frequency to help keep patients and residents safe in healthcare environments. Glen Jonas who founded

the company saw a need to help prevent Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents from wandering away from

their caretakers and our first product CODE ALERT® was born.


Jonas says, “product ideas came mainly from our customers. For example, in June 1989 I received a call from a hospital asking if our CODE ALERT system could be adapted to protect babies while they were away from the nursery and this is the origin of SAFE PLACE®.

As a technology company we are keenly aware that product support is extremely critical to keep our customers happy. Today we have over 10,000 installed systems in the marketplace and a major reason for our success is our ability to get our products installed and properly maintained for our customers.
